NEW! Fall Workshops on School Holidays!
One-day Workshops offered on Oct 18th, Nov 11th, Dec 20th, Jan 6th and Jan 20th at our Los Altos and Belmont locations
We are pleased to announce our day-long Oct 18th, Nov 11th, Dec 20th and Jan 6th workshops, offered at our Los Altos location. These workshops will run from 9am to 3pm. We are also offering half-day workshops on Nov 11th and Jan 20th at our Belmont location from 9-12:30pm.
Kidizens workshops offer the kids an opportunity to immerse themselves in a fun, social LEGO-based environment and take on a civic journey through the life of a ‘kidizen!’ The kids would be partnered (in an age-appropriate manner) to collaboratively build cities from ground up, thereby having an opportunity to learn some basic civic and economic concepts pertaining to planning, managing and governing a city. They will face a few challenges along the way and end the day evaluating city services and overall citizen happiness in addition to putting some laws in place.
Two-day Workshop exclusively for Los Altos kids on Nov 25th and 26th!
Enjoy your days off school and build a LEGO city with us. You will have tons of LEGO and civic fun leading up to the Thanksgiving holidays.
2-day Winter Workshops – January 2nd and 3rd, 2014 and February 13th and 14th, 2014 in Los Altos and Belmont
Would You Like to Build an entire LEGO City?
During our 2-day workshops, students (ages 6-11) build a city and learn all about the civics and economics of managing a city! Based on the success of our summer camps, we are offering a 2-day workshop in November and two winter camps during the holidays and school breaks. The first camp will run for 2 days in January, from January 2nd through January 3rd, from 9:00 AM through 3:00 PM with an hour-long lunch break.
The second camp will run from February 13th through February 14th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM with an hour-long lunch break. Please register today, as space is limited.
During the workshops, the students will serve as council members of a city which they will both create and govern. Their city will also soon be filled with “residents”, each of whom will have requests, demands and opinions, to which the council members will respond. Meanwhile, our Kidizens team of experienced teachers will provide them with background information through detailed lessons on topics such as constitutions, economics, infrastructure, flags, budgeting and much more! It will be a period of great fun and great learning!
